New Program for Those Just Released from Prison
Rockford's WIFR examines local reentry programs, focuses on Safer Foundation.
ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Eighty-two percent of former Illinois state prisoners return behind bars according to a 2008 state report. It's a cycle that tends to repeat itself because offenders don't get the help to transition into society. The biggest hardship can be finding a job - something Erick Williams knows first hand.
