North Lawndale Adult Transition Center
Sixteen years after assuming the management of Crossroads, Safer Foundation entered into another contract with IDOC to build and operate a second adult transition center in the North Lawndale community.

Safer's North Lawndale Adult Transition Center has been providing services to residents for over a decade.
This 200-bed facility was completed in the spring of 2000 and celebrated its official opening that summer. It now houses 200 male inmates and confirms Safer's belief in the value of providing transitional support to individuals with criminal records in their own community with the support of that community prior to release.
Like its Crossroads counterpart, the North Lawndale ATC offers a full spectrum of services needed to enable residents to take positive control of their lives and prepare them to lead crime-free, productive lives upon release.
In October 2001, the North Lawndale ATC went through the American Correctional Association Accreditation Audit. Like Crossroads, it also received 100% ratings in both Mandatory and Non-mandatory Standards. In October of 2004 it was reaccredited by ACA.
