Requirements

Good interpersonal skills, with a desire to develop diagnostic skills, learn interviewing techniques utilized in client assessments, and gain experience in conducting small group counseling sessions. Good written and verbal communication skills. A genuine desire to work with clients in their rehabilitation efforts. Experience working with a person with a criminal record (adult or juvenile) or substance abuse populations a plus.

Description of Tasks

- Administer initial screening for determination of client eligibility.
- Determine the clients needs and initiate the intake process.
- Conduct individual counseling sessions with juveniles and adults.
- Conduct group sessions regarding job readiness, conflict resolution in the workplace, appropriate on-the-job behaviors and other topics.
- Maintain client records.
- Other tasks as assigned.

Hours

15 – 40 hours per week as dictated by the program
