John Faulhaber Scholarship

Named in honor of longtime board member and friend

John Faulhaber

In 2014, Safer Foundation lost a dear friend and advocate, Mr. John Faulhaber. A longtime officer of Safer’s board of directors, John was extremely committed to the organization, clients and staff. He is deeply missed. To honor his legacy, the Safer Foundation Board has established the John Faulhaber Memorial Scholarship.

The annual scholarship will be awarded to a Safer Foundation client in good standing, who has been formerly incarcerated or is on probation and has demonstrated a desire and the ability to pursue additional education. Tuition, books and supplies and student fees are allowable costs.

In addition, a successful candidate will have:

  • Researched the desired area of study
  • An adequate support system in place to enhance the potential for success
  • Achieved any prerequisite(s) for entering desired course of study and been accepted by the school for which financial support is being requested
  • Commit to “giving back," either through volunteerism or in other ways when education has been completed and employment attained
