Volunteer Opportunities

Safer Foundation offers a number of opportunities for volunteers to provide assistance

Safer serves over 10,000 clients each year thanks to the help of volunteers.

Safer has volunteers at all of its locations throughout Illinois and eastern Iowa. Volunteers provide support to almost all  client programs.

Volunteers have participated in a number of activities for Safer:

  • General clerical tasks
  • Job coaching   
  • Facilitating AA sessions
  • Tutoring basic literacy
  • Tutoring GED students
  • Developing computer literacy
  • Assisting with resume writing
  • Supporting job readiness training
  • Bible study (open denominations)
  • Religious services (open denominations)
  • Facilitating support groups
  • Providing health and wellness seminars
  • Providing money management seminars
  • Yoga instruction
  • Credit counseling
  • Creative writing
  • Parenting skills
  • Interviewing/job skills
