On October 15, 2009, over 300 people gathered at the Hyatt Regency Chicago's Crystal Ballroom to celebrate Safer Foundation. Honorees included Chicago Mayor Richard M. Daley and celebrity chef Jeff Henderson, who received the Spirit of Safer Award and the Safer Achievement Award, respectively. Loop Capital's Jim Reynolds chaired the event and WGN's Bob Jordan served as emcee.
